Delete your Poetry Codices account

You can delete your account yourself, on the web or in the phone app, in under a minute. If you can no longer sign in, email us and we will do it for you.

On the web

  1. Open your profile — the account button at the end of the bar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Press Edit profile.
  3. Scroll to the foot of the page, to the Danger zone.
  4. Press Delete account.
  5. Type DELETE to confirm, then press Delete account again.

In the phone app

  1. Tap the Account tab, the last one at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Scroll to the foot of your profile, past Blocked poets, Data, Sign out and Legal, to the Danger zone.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete account.

Either way, it takes effect immediately.

Without the app

Email support@poetrycodices.com from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We confirm by replying to that address, and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What happens

Your login and profile are permanently removed. Your poems and chapbooks disappear from view at once, and 60 days later they are erased for good, together with your pictures, recordings and chapbook covers. Your notifications, blocked list and notification settings are deleted straight away. This cannot be undone. If you want your work erased sooner, say so in your email or write to us afterwards, and we will remove it.

Notes, reactions and verses you left on other poets’ poems stay where they are, without your name, because they are part of those poems’ conversations. You can remove them yourself before deleting your account.

Deleting some things without deleting your account

You can delete individual poems and chapbooks in the app at any time, from the “⋯” menu on each one. You can also remove your own notes and verses.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep and for how long.
